I grew up variously between the Sierra Mountains and the
beaches of Southern California. Rock climbing, snow skiing, fly fishing, bow
hunting and body surfing consumed most of my free time. I’ve always had an
overabundance of passion for Mother Nature and conservation.
At 22, I began a long-time career in sales. Initially, I
spent 5 years growing a Southern California territory, before deciding I needed
a bit more playtime. I gave my notice and was off to live in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
My plan was that after a few seasons playing on the rocks
and in the snow, I’d move back to Huntington Beach, marry my longtime high
school sweetheart and then begin my studies in Environmental Resource
Management at Humboldt State University.
A change of plans came about when my first baby boy came
along. It was back to sales, then a Business Management degree, followed by 25
years of selling primarily manufacturing equipment.
I don’t regret a thing, after all I’ve been privileged to
do plenty of volunteer work with environmental groups along the way. I have two grown boys now and it feels like the right
time to bring this journey full circle.
